There are some differences between USTPA Region 9 Penning and Canadian Penning that you should be aware of.
1. Your rating will most likely be different. You must be a good-standing USTPA member in order to compete at these shows. You may fill out membership forms at the shows, but you must complete one before you ride.
2. USTPA enforces a 3 cow rule, where only 3 cows may be on the pen side of the cow line at any time.
3. A dirty cow may enter the pen without being called a "no-time", however, cannot be in the pen when the riders call time.
4. There is a $10 hat fine if your hat hits the arena floor. The money will be collected and used for youth prizes at the Regional Finals.
5. All riders are responsible for knowing their own rating and entering their teams correctly.
6. Riders for the Quick Draw must be rated as a 4 or higher.
